Gaffigan grew up in the food cultural void of Indiana, where staples are meat and potatoes. The state is landlocked, apart from one tiny northwest corner that sits on one of Great Lakes. Hence his distate for seafood. Like mussels. He’s said, “What is the recipe of mussels? That’s just like sea bugs and butter, right? Why don’t you just have the butter?”

What a waste that Gaffigan now lives in New York City - a food mecca! He and his wife have four children, who like children everywhere, are addicted to pizza. So they eat it a lot…and often. “Pizza is a necessity. It’s like oxygen to children. It’s easy to get delivered. It’s easy to clean up. You appear as a hero as a parent, because they associate it with a party.” But Gaffigan is not a fan of this ubiquitous food, noting, “… pizza is just all right. That’s kind of like saying you’re against the military — saying you’re against pizza — but I’m just so sick of it.”

On Sept. 7, Jim Gaffigan’s special “Jim Gaffigan: Beyond the Pale” is coming to Blu-ray for the first time, thanks to Image Entertainment. The new disc is also coming with a ton of bonus material: Mr. Chicago, Eat Dinner With Jim, Jim’s First Stand-Up Performance, How To Break Into Stand-Up Comedy, A Short Cartoon Of Jim and Jim Makes The News.

Of course, there’s still nothing better than going to see stand up comedy live. Luckily, Jim Gaffigan tickets are just around the corner. He’s kicking off his summer tour with two performances at Humphrey’s in San Diego on July 16.

Other highlights from his upcoming summer tour include stops at the Meadowbrook Music Festival in Rochester Hills, Mich., on Aug. 20 and a special two night performance at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas on Sept. 24 and 25.

His character, Andy, will be written off the show with a move overseas.  Towards the end of the season, fans will be introduced to a new character; Mike’s love interest, Marcia, played by The Hangover’s Rachel Harris.

Currently Jim is on the road promoting his latest release “King Baby.”  The tour continues through the rest of this year, with new dates being added so more Jim Gaffigan tickets are up for grabs.

In between his travel and performances, Gaffigan also stars in movies like “Stephanie Daley,” which collected rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival. His latest release—“Away We Go”—came out last June.

The movie follows an expectant couple as they search the U.S. for the perfect spot to settle down and raise a family. Gaffigan is joined by John Krasinski, Maya Rudolph, Jeff Daniels, Carmen Ejogo, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Josh Hamilton, Allison Janney, Melanie Lynskey, Chris Messina, Catherine O’Hara and Paul Schneider.
